Why are my files .py and not .pyc?

I downloaded a new script, looked in the folder and the script files are .py
When I look at all of the other scripts in the midi remote scripts folder, they are .pyc files, why is this?

Hi there,

Ableton automatically will automatically compile those .py files into .pyc next time you load up Ableton.
If .pyc versions don't appear in the folder it means there's a problem with the script.
If you need help with this please let me know :)
