Press same encoder to increse

Hi,

I would like to be able to push down on the same encoder button to switch between 'sends' and then twist the encoder to change the value, the reason for this is there is only one encoder on the F1 Kontrol and I have 5 sends I'd like to switch between.

Thanks
Jeff

Hi Jeff,

You can switch sends by using different modes, however, you would need a button of some sort for each mode activation button. You could use a single shift button to switch between 2 modes but that's probably as far as you can get at the moment.

Having the ability to switch between modes with a single button has been mentioned before, I'll add it to our development list and hopefully we can get this in soon.

Hi John,

Thanks for getting back to me, I did try this with the mode buttons before and didn't have much luck as I wanted the one and only encoder (I am looking to get a different controller with more encoder lol) to control volume, sends etc..

The issue I had was that I set up the session box to 4 wide and 1 deep so that I could control solo, mute and arm on the 16 pads for 4 tracks at a time, then trying to use the one encoder to adjust the vol, pan, sends for the track that was selected. Generally nothing happened. would you be able to do a tutorial for the shift and mode functions please.

I must mention I only tried the mode functions and not shift. I will give that another try in the mean time.

Thanks Jeff

Hi Jeff,

That sounds like an interesting mapping for your F1, I hope we can help you make it a reality.
A tutorial for mode & shift functionality has been drafted and will be available very soon, so hold tight for that.
If you want to send over your script to me, I'll take a look and see if I can figure out why modes aren't working for you.

Hi John,

Thanks for getting back to me again, I managed to get the shift buttons working, but I added the 'device' buttons too and have set them to specific tracks 1,2,3 and 4, (same as I did for solo, mute and arm) but what has happened is when I move the session box the solo, mute and arm move with the session box as I wanted but the device buttons still only control tracks 1,2,3 and 4 whilst the solo etc.. would control the tracks within the session box.

Also at present the session box moves in groups of 4, is there a way to get the session box to move only one track at a time please?

Hmm this does sound like a bug, I'll take a look at your script asap thanks for uploading the json file!

At present, its not possible to move one track at a time. Only paging left/right is possible, so if you have a session box 8 tracks in width for example it will move 8 left or right etc. We do have a number of session box improvements on their way including this so hold tight.

Hey Jeff,

I'm currently investigating the issue you mentioned regarding device controls not moving with the session box.

I can't actually replicate this, I added device parameter controls & a device on/off for device 1 on track 1.
When I move the session box, they follow the session box and update to the new position.

Can you confirm that you're still having this issue?

Hi John,

Thanks for having a look.

I'm still having the problem with the device select mode, it still only select tracks 1-4 and doesn't follow the session box.

Thanks Jeff

Hi Jeff,

Sorry to hear that you're still having trouble with this.
Just to confirm is it, device select buttons which aren't moving with the session box and not device on/off buttons? as that's what I tested previously.

Thanks

John

Hi John,

The session box moves fine, I set up the 'solo', 'mute' & 'arm' in the same way and they move with the session box, i.e. the session box is 4x1 so tracks 1-4 i have control over then when I move the session box to 5-8 I have solo, mute and arm control over them as I want but the select track will only control tracks 1-4 whilst the session box is on tracks 5-8.

I hope this makes senses lol.

Thanks Jeff

Hi Jeff,

I've found the problem and have a fix.
It's going to take a little while to implement in Remotify.
So for the time being, I've patched your f1_pro_shift script with the fix so you can use it right now.
I'll send it to you in an email.

Hi Jeff,

The fix for Device Navigation has now been implemented in Remotify.
When a Session Box is active, Track Selection is now relative to the Session Box.
You can now move the the Box around and switch between tracks within it.
