When I use remotify to create a script and then install and try it. My midi ports are not released. I have to shut down all Chrome processes and re-start chrome to get my midi port released back to my Ableton Live Application (windows 10). Is there a cleaner way to release the midy port from Remotify?

Hi sjcaldwell,
Are you saying that the 'midi learn' feature of Remotify is locking your midi ports?
As far as I'm aware, this only monitors the midi messages being sent to your computer. It shouldn't require anything to be released.
Has anyone else experienced this?

John,
Well on Windows, a port can only be open by one application at a time. Since remotify is opening all available midi ports on my PC to read the sent values, it does not close them when finished and I cannot use my ports for anything else that may need to use them until I completely shut down my Chrome browser (and all associated chrome tasks in task manager).
I'm not familiar with the protocol remotify uses with Chrome to open and release midi ports on the attached workstation.
Oh I see, this does sound like a problem then.
I'll investigate asap, thanks for getting back to me with the details!
