REACTION: SEL Track Input routing state to LED feedback

Hey there everyone, I have just buckled down to completely rebuild my working template for ableton using CSS (previously used the web based script creator). I've educated myself on how reactions work and how to get LED feedback for basic functions.
I am currently struggling on one bit of my template that I would love some input on.

Here is an example which embodies the elements of what I am trying to do (will be scaled to fit my needs but for discussion I will keep it as simple as it needs to be)

I am using a launchpad and have dedicate 4 buttons to change the selected track's input routing state.

So:
Button 1 sets sel track input to "1/2 name1"
Button 2 sets sel track input to "3/4 name2"
Button 3 sets sel track input to "5/6 name3"
Button 4 sets sel track input to "7/8 name4"

All of these work as intended and I am able to send midi from my controller to change the input state's of my selected track.

Now, i am working on the other direction. I want to have the buttons light up to indicate which inputs are enabled whenever i selected a track.

I want only the button that is used to engage the current ext in routing configuration to be lit when it matches the state of the currently selected track.

From what I have seen so far from the listener list the only options that are in the ballpark of what I believe to be the item i want to use is:
-Track input channel
-Input routings

None of these have values that I can delegate to create an association between specific input channels.
I see that I can edit the code but don't quite know what the proper vernacular would be to identify this amount of specificity.

So my questions are:
What are the differences between the listener options above?
and-
A) if somebody has dealt with this and can point me in the right direction
B) if there is some syntax reference sheets that cover some of the ways in which one can specify such things.

Thanks in advance for the input!
Cheers,
-Ky
