Rack - activate device in chain

Hi,
I want to activate and show (!) a device in a chain. Activating with a device selector and on/off works, but the device is not popping up, as you see it, when you click on the chain.
Once a had this functioned with a script, but transfer the script to another computer I lost this feature, same script, hm?
