issue with keys

Hi, first of all thank you for this amazing software. I am a pro user and I am mapping my Akai APC Key 25. The process went on smoothly until I realised while mapping the keys that Ableton does not recognise the "keys" midi input on the keyboard. I noticed that the keys function take an on/off value but the APC is ruled by a velocity system due to the pressure on the buttons.
The question is, how do I solve this problem?
