Drum Rack Individual Pad Mapping

Anyone have an idea if I can map a Pioneer DJ controller like the DDJ-SP1's sampler pads to individual slots in the Ableton Drum Rack? When you connect it, it seems like the pads are already pre-mapped to certain slots, and the top and bottom rows are reversed. Any idea how to change each signal? It seems like something that would be possible but how :( I bought this app for that purpose alone :((((

Your best bet - until John adds drums to remotify, is to use the "UserConfiguration.txt" which you put NOT in application/AppResources/MIDI Remote Scripts, but in USER/Preferences/Ableton or some such.

In there, you just have to describe by pad your four by four configuration and the drums will move with the live screen. I think you'll get the behavior you want PLUS instant transposing.

Best,

There must be something I'm still doing wrong... I followed the instructions on the remote script already, matching the drum rack slots with the data of the SP1 (used Midi Monitor to find out notes and channels). Got it to show up on the control surfaces already, but it's still not behaving the way I set it to. The pad assignments haven't changed. Am I missing something? Or did I misinterpret something?

Do the pads not work at all or just doing something not expected?

Are you getting anything to work? I ask because when i first tried to figure this out, I was putting the configuration.txt file the wrong place.

It works REALLY well, and EXACTLY as you want. Whatever set of 16 pads you see on the screen will play with your controller.

Only 16 as far as I know, but it works perfectly.

Let me know if you're still having trouble. I'll send you a configuration file that I KNOW works, albeit for a different device.

Also let us know what device (PC/Mac) and OS you're on so we can be sure you're prong everything in the right folder.

Best,
