building a script for homemade midi interface - led control

Hi every body!

I'm juste newb here.
Practicing music, theater, i'm on the way to build my own midi interface, and i want to do a full duplex with live.
Sending midi to live is easy.
But i really dont know what kind of messages live send to drive led, or motor knob?

I'dont want to use max.

some help?
