ableton device parameter numbers wrong?

I'm new to Remotify and setting up a script to control Ableton's audio effects (eq8 auto filter) and also simpler. I cannot for the life of me get this to work. I've had no problem setting up scripts for 3rd party plugins, volume controls, etc. But the Ableton device parameters listed here (https://remotify.io/device-parameters/device_params_live11.html) don't seem to correspond to the parameters. When I use them only some seem to actually work but most do not. I have tried using the control surface studio script that is meant to output the numbers into the log but this doesn't work for me either. (I think this is because on my windows PC, when Ableton is running my midi controller which is the Faderfox EC4 doesn't communicate properly with the control surface studio app if I have Ableton and CSS running at the same time - the Faderfox will only communicate with the application first opened).

I am thinking that either I might be setting up the script incorrectly (my midi CCs are definitely correctly mapped to the knobs) or the numbers listed don't correspond to the device parameter numbers as stated. I am using Ableton 11.2.7.

I've made a super simple script to debug this as follows:
- mode > track selector (set to selected track) > device selector (Set to selected track) > parameter bank with just 4 knobs. In each knob, I set the select device parameter number to the Ableton device number, which in the case of simpler's filter frequency would be 41. But nothing happens when I try to use this knob. Oddly though a few parameters work such as transpose (number 11) or sample start (number 3). But no luck with other parameters.

any help is very welcome!

Aha - after some more testing it seems like only the first 16 parameters respond. The first numbered 1-16 all work as expected. numbers 17 onwards don't respond to midi signals. Is this a bug
